The rate of admission is fairly decent due to the policy constraint that international students, including overseas students and students from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao, can be accepted to SHSID. One out of every 4-5 pupils is accepted into the first grade, though this number can vary. In other grades, the rate is determined by the number of students that drop out.
