The summer programs are only offered on-site at Canyon Crest Academy, a nationally ranked public high school in the San Dieguito Union High School District in San Diego, California.

For the on-site programs, each of the following sessions is identical. **Please feel free to chose one of the sessions. **
For example, you can choose CE from 7/6 to 7/9 and then ML from 7/26 to 7/29.

Date/Duration:

  • 1-Week Sessions (1.5hr sessions for 4 days)
  • 4 Sessions from July 6th to July 29th 2021
  • Each week 's program is identical. Students can choose any of the above weeks.

Curriculum:

  • Choice of Machine Learning (ML) and Computer Engineering (CE) (students may attend either or both sessions)
  • 4:1 student to instructor ratio
  • Prerequisite: Must have completed 7th grade by the start of the summer program

  • $240 per 1-week session per Stream.

Machine Learning and Computer Engineering Curriculum Lead Designer, Mr. Tony Mauro

Tony Mauro has an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and is a registered patent agent with the US Patent and Trademark Office. He has 25 years of industry experience in the fields of communication systems, digital signal processing, multimedia, and more. Mr. Mauro has worked at Qualcomm Inc for many years and led many key high-tech projects. Currently, he teaches Computer Science and Engineering at Canyon Crest Academy, a nationally ranked public high school in the San Dieguito Union High School District in San Diego, California.

Students Level: 7th Grade ~ 12th Grade (Need to be enrolling 8th Grade in the incoming Fall Semester)

** Small-size Group Classes (4 Instructors and Assistants working with up to 8 students)

High Teacher -to-Student Ratio: 4 Teachers & TAs to up to 8 students

Live Session Format: Students will work with the instructor and their assistants to do group activities, and then they will be learning Machine Learning or Computer Engineering on our educational platform (pre-course exams, lectures, assignments, quizzes, projects). While learning this material, students have access to teachers to ask questions in person. After each unit, the instructor will ask students to clarify some concepts and collaborate with each other.

Assignment: Each unit has an assignment that will be graded by our instructor

Quizzes: Each unit has quizzes embedded in the curriculum to make sure master what they have learned.

Skills trained: Software, Hardware, project-debugging, collaborative, and leadership skills
